Well, maybe ALL the things is a little ambitious, but how about a general update on some of the things? I haven’t posted anything since July, when I gave an update on my Bernina 570QE E, and a lot has happened since then. I’ve sewn some things, I’ve done some machine embroidery, and we lost my Dad on November 1st.
We’ll start with Dad. If you recall, I wrote this post about my dad back in October last year, where I talked about his stroke. Looking back, I think that if he hadn’t had the stroke, we may have lost him even sooner than we did, because we found out after the stroke that he had a lot of medical issues he didn’t discuss with anyone, up to and probably including his doctor. He had dementia before the stroke, but it progressed very quickly after the stroke, and somewhere around mid to late summer, Mom told me that his heart wasn’t doing so well. I’m not going to recount everything that happened, but I will say that just before Halloween, he was having issues breathing, and my sister and Mom convinced him to go to the hospital on the evening of October 30th. Forty-eight hours later he was gone, slipping away peacefully on November 1st. It was both one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, and one of the easiest. I miss him so much, and I know Mom, and my brother and sister do, too, as well as the rest of the family. I also know that it would have been cruel to keep him on life support just so we could say he was still with us, when he really was not with us at all. He was one of the most interesting people I’ve ever known, and he was one of the best. He will be greatly missed, but at least now, his mind is whole again, his spirit lives on, and he will always be loved.

Before all of this happened with Dad, I was working on the MeTime Delivered Christmas village. It’s super cute, and I can’t wait to share it with you, but I’m not done with it yet. I have most of the buildings stitched, but I haven’t put them together yet. I’m hoping to spend some time in the studio this weekend working on it in an attempt to finish stitching the houses and putting them together, but since we’re coming up on Thanksgiving, I may have to wait till next week to finish them. I do have one put together – the first one I stitched.

I’ve also done another vest for work, this one with an Autumn theme.

And I’ve made progress on my golf quilt. All of the squares have been appliquéd! Now I’m just trying to find a layout for it. There are a lot more squares than this, but as you can see, the surface area is limited.

I made some Autumn pot holders.

And I attended my first Kimberbell event!

We had a visitor at the front door of the house. No, I don’t know what kind of snake it was, and I don’t care; it should have visited someone else! I don’t like snakes at ALL.

I made a baby quilt.

And last but not least, we’ve been fostering Bullet since June.

That’s the Cliff’s Notes version. What’s up with y’all?
