Hi there, and welcome to Texas Quilt Girl!
I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a Texas born, Texas raised quilter with a deep love for traditional quilts, timeless designs, and beautiful fabrics from designers like Lori Holt, Camille Roskelly, and other modern favorites who bring both vintage and modern charm to life.
Quilting found me at a time when I needed something steady and creative to hold onto. I needed a distraction while going through a divorce, raising two small children, holding down a demanding full time job and attending college classes. I picked up quilting as a way to stay grounded during that big life transition. Soon, quilting filled my weekends without the kids, and evenings after they went to bed, and what started as therapy quickly became a passion.
Since then, quilting has brought me comfort, joy, community and a sense of purpose outside and apart from family and career. I started texasquiltgirl.com to share that journey with others – whether you’re a seasoned quilter or just learning how to thread your machine. You’ll find my favorite projects here, along with tips, tricks, tools, and a peek into my life behind the seams.
To me, quilts are more than fabric and thread. They are love, healing, tradition, and creativity all stitched into one. And I’m so honored to share that with you.
Thanks for stopping by. Let’s keep the tradition alive, one quilt at a time.
In Quilty love,
Jill, aka Texas Quilt Girl
