One of the things I had hoped to spend more time on when I retired was photography. I’ve probably told the story before, but I bought my first “serious” camera when I graduated from high school some 40 years ago. I had received what, at the time, was a considerable amount of money, and my aunt asked what I was going to do with it. “I have no idea,” I responded. She suggested a nice 35mm camera, and the rest, as they say, is history.

This past weekend, we took a drive so I could get some courthouse photos. For the last 25 years or so, I’ve been photographing Texas courthouses, and I decided to restart the series recently. Here are a few shots from that drive.

I have decided that I’m going to try to get out at least once a week to do some photography, even if only for an hour or so. Maybe I’ll go to the park and take some photos of wildlife, or maybe I’ll hit up small towns and shoot some pictures. Regardless of where I go, my plan is to spend more time shooting photos and less time cleaning house!
